Plumber held for hoax calls about bombs

A plumber was arrested for allegedly making hoax calls to the Police Control Room claiming there were bombs at several locations in the Capital,the police said on Wednesday.

A plumber was arrested for allegedly making hoax calls to the Police Control Room claiming there were bombs at several locations in the Capital,the police said on Wednesday.

According to the police,Mohammed Sonu Siddique was arrested by a team of Special Cell.

Siddique had allegedly made five calls to the PCR last Saturday,claiming that bombs had been placed on platform number 4 and 9 of the New Delhi Railway Station,as well as the IGI Airport and Surya Hotel.

A senior police officer said: “He (Siddique) told us that he wanted to have fun and wanted to talk to women police personnel. So he called up the PCR.”

Siddique was arrested following technical surveillance of his mobile phone,the officer said.

“He had bought five SIMs — two each from Delhi and Mumbai and one from Siwan. We had difficulty in tracing the number but finally we managed,” the officer said.
