Plot scandal papers lost,CBI told to move HC

A Delhi court has directed CBI to approach the Delhi High Court for directions after several important documents including witness statements went “missing” in a case of illegal allotment of resettlement plots in 2004.

A Delhi court has directed CBI to approach the Delhi High Court for directions after several important documents including witness statements went “missing” in a case of illegal allotment of resettlement plots in 2004. Several DDA and Slum and JJ department officials are accused in the case.

Special CBI Judge Anoop Kumar Mendiratta observed that the case clearly reflects malafide exercise by the prosecution,which had failed to place crucial documents and statement of witnesses on record.

The CBI had filed 16 chargesheets on fictitious allotment of plots under the resettlement scheme. The court has directed the agency to approach the Delhi High Court for directions for fresh investigation to reconstruct missing documents,witness statements.
