Is Indian fashion popular abroad? That’s what Idea Weavers is trying to find out. The event-management company flags off a five-day Indian Premier London Fashion Week at the Bloomsbury Ballroom in London on May 7. Unfurling the brocades to the Indian diaspora will be 30 Indian designers,including fashion heavyweights Narendra Kumar and Rina Dhaka. Other designers include Neeta Lulla,Rocky S and Gayatri Khanna. While the company maintains they have a formidable list of buyers,the aim is also to tap the well-heeled NRI population. “There is a huge demand among the Indian community for designer wear which would be addressed this week where we would showcase quality Indian designs,” says Raksha Agarwal,production manager,Idea Weavers. The fashion week is expected to have 18 shows.
