Physiotherapy student ‘gangraped by friends’ , three arrested

Police said three of the accused were arrested on Saturday evening, while one is still absconding.

A 23-year-old physiotherapy student was allegedly gangraped by four persons, including two of her friends, in East Delhi’s Vivek Vihar area. Police said three of the accused were arrested on Saturday evening, while one is still absconding. A case has been registered at Vivek Vihar police station.

According to police, the incident occurred on April 1 when the woman’s friends invited her to a party at their house in Farsh Bazar.

“She went to their house at 6 pm, but after the party they held her hostage. They later raped her and threatened her of dire consequences if she informed anyone,” a senior police officer said.

The woman later reached home and told her mother, who in turn informed police.
