Partying Shot

Delhi-based fashion designer Pallavi Mohan’s style soiree at the LAP Garden restaurant in Hotel Samrat on Wednesday saw the usual suspect party goers socialising elbow to elbow at the courtyard,bouncing from an ongoing photo exhibition by Spanish designer Carlos Berruezo’s “A walk through Barcelona’s Diagonal”,to the frilly installations done by Mohan in another corner. As the apple vodka drinks and guava marys flowed,the designers — Samant Chauhan,Joy Mitra,Poonam Bhagat,Gaurav Gupta of Akaro,and socialite Amol Vadehra spent a few minutes admiring De espiritu libre,an installation inspired by the 20th century Spanish poet and dramatist Federico García Lorca,known for romanticizing Spanish folk mythologies. The summer chic collection in off- whites,yellow and indigo saw crystal beetles,bugs and butterflies creeping up on the dresses. “It’s a very carefree collection,which is ideal for summer and the clothes are perfect for evening wear,” said Mohan,kitted in an yellow dress from her own collection.
