To provide better treatment under ayurveda,unani,siddha and homeopathy (AYUSH),the MCD had decided to set up AYUSH as a separate directorate. Opposition from certain quarters,however,has forced the civic body to set up a committee to look at the issues and make amendments,if required. The decision was taken on Monday. At present,AYUSH is under the supervision of the Director of Hospital Administration (MCD). According to its earlier proposal,the new directorate will consist of a director (AYUSH) and three deputy directors will be re-designated as Additional Director (Ayurveda),Additional Director (Unani) and Additional Director (Homeopathy). “We have set up a committee under Dr Monga,chairman of Public Health Committee,” said P R Sawhney,Mayor of Delhi.
