33 detained as scuffle breaks out between students of Noida medical institute, security guards
A video clip of the incident surfaced on social media, purportedly showing some stick-wielding persons smashing two-wheelers and four-wheelers parked outside the hostel whose inmate is heard hurling expletives.

As many as 33 people were detained after a scuffle allegedly broke out between the students of Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS), Noida and guards of a private security company on Sunday night.
In videos circulating on social media, a group of guards can be seen armed with rods and guns, breaking vehicles parked on the campus.
According to Noida police, those detained include security guards and a few students. Officers said that a fight broke out between the two sides over students smoking in restricted areas.
Institute officials informed that 15 students are admitted to hospital due to injuries. Dr (Brig) Rakesh Gupta, director of the institute, confirmed that the altercation was between the students of GIMS and security guards.
Students at the institute claimed that the guards entered the hostel premises forcefully and broke the gates of the rooms in which MBBS students were residing.
A student said, “The students were dragged out of their rooms and mercilessly beaten with rods and sticks. More than 20 students sustained serious injuries and many more sustained minor injuries. All vehicles of the students and the hostel warden’s car were vandalised.”
