Commuters in Noida may have to face traffic snarls for the next two years as the local authority has decided to close Sector 37,diverting traffic from Kalindi Kunj and Atta Market to another route for starting work on a new network of flyovers and underpasses.

“For the next two years, those commuting from Atta and Kalindi Kunj have to stop commuting through Sector 37 due to construction of the traffic junction. They can take Shashi Chowk route and Botanical Garden route to reach their destinations,” the official added.

The commuters will now have to take the Atta Market Road to the Botanical Garden Metro Station, turn left to Army public School and take a right turn to reach Shashi Chowk. Those going to Kalindi Kunj will have to take the route from Shashi Chowk to Golf Gourse and Sector 37 leading to Mahamaya flyover.

Officials feel commuters will take some time to adjust to the new route. “The new traffic system will have a flyover from Kalindi Kunj to Chalera and an underpass from Atta to Chalera to solve the traffic problems of the city. The construction will be finished by August 2012,” the official said.
