Noida Police issues traffic advisory for kanwar yatra: Here are the diversions

Officials said that the route diversion rules will be applied from July 4 to 18.

Noida Police issues traffic advisory for kanwar yatra: Here are the diversions

In view of kanwar yatra, Gautam Buddha Nagar traffic police issued an advisory Monday to divert heavy vehicles, especially freight carriers, to different routes.

Officials said that the route diversion rules will be applied from July 4 to 18. They also said if the number of kanwariyas increases in Ghaziabad, private vehicles will be diverted on these routes as well.

“Heavy and light vehicles going from Delhi-Badarpur border Okhla Barrage via Noida via Ghaziabad to Bulandshahr/Hapur/Moradabad will go towards the destination using Eastern Peripheral Expressway from Noida-Greater Noida Expressway. The vehicles going from Delhi to Ghaziabad, Bulandshahr, Hapur or Moradabad via DND flyover will take the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway to reach their destination using the Eastern Peripheral Expressway,” said the traffic police.

They further said, “Vehicles going to Ghaziabad, Hapur or Moradabad via Chilla red light will take Noida-Greater Noida Expressway… using Eastern Peripheral Expressway. Other Heavy and light vehicles going to Ghaziabad, Hapur or Moradabad via the elevated road on MP-1 road will go towards their destination using Eastern Peripheral Expressway from Noida-Greater Noida Expressway.”

The traffic police also said that the vehicles going to Ghaziabad, Hapur and Moradabad via NIB, Model Town, Chhijarsi (Sector 63), and Taj Highway will be sent back via Eastern Peripheral Expressway.

“Vehicular traffic will be completely prohibited on the route from Chilla red light to Pakshi Vihar Gate. It is advised to use alternate routes for convenience. People can also contact on helpline number 9971009001, Whatsapp number 7065100100 and Twitter handle @noidatraffic for traffic-related information,” said a senior traffic police official.

He also said, “These new routes are mostly for heavy and light freight vehicles to ensure a free and safe movement of kanwariyas. However, if their number increases in Ghaziabad, then other vehicles will also be stopped and diverted on these routes.”
