Five of the 16 officers against whom the State government has lodged an FIR for their involvement in the controversial allocation of plots in Noida for the construction of five-star hotels, moved the Allahabad High Court on Tuesday seeking the quashing of the FIR and stay on arrests on several grounds. All five officers, including three from the IAS,have filed separate petitions. The court is likely to hear the case on Wednesday. “The suspension order and the FIR by the Mayawati government were politically motivated as the allotment was done during Mulayam Singh Yadav’s regime. The officers executed the allotment as per the policy decision taken by the Noida Authority board,” U N Pandey, counsel of L K Gupta, one of the officers, said. The FIR was lodged with the Sector-20 police station,Noida.
