The Delhi High Court has asked the Anjuman-e-Haideri trust, Waqf Board and the owners of Rajdhani Nursery to resolve their dispute over a piece of land near the Karbala in Jor Bagh through arbitration proceedings.
During the hearing, the trust, which is responsible for the maintenance of the Karbala, informed the court of Justice Manmohan that it was amenable to the suggestion to expedite the arbitration. The court has directed all parties to resolve the issue within four-and-half months.
“Till the matter is judicially determined, none of the parties will resort to any kind of action or protest in the area… All the three counsel as well as the Delhi Police would comply with the orders passed by the High Court…,” the court said.
The trust has alleged that the nursery had encroached on Waqf land near the Karbala with the help of a Congress leader. The owner of Rajdhani Nursery, on the other hand, claimed that members of the trust “illegally entered the property and damaged plants…”
