MNC staffer robbed,cops hunt for duo

A senior executive assistant at McKinsey and Company,Gurgaon,was robbed of her belongings on Press Enclave Road,while returning home with a friend on Sunday night.

A senior executive assistant at McKinsey and Company,Gurgaon,was robbed of her belongings on Press Enclave Road,while returning home with a friend on Sunday night. The two were travelling in an autorickshaw when two motorcycle-borne persons waylaid them.

According to police,the incident occurred around 9.15 pm on Sunday while the complainant,Anuradha Chettri,and her friend,Veenita Rai,were on their way home to Humayunpur.

In her complaint to the police,Anuradha said,“We boarded an autorickshaw from M Block,Saket,to go to Humayunpur. About 50 metres ahead,near Geetanjali bus stop,two men on a black motorcycle overtook us from the left and intercepted our vehicle.”

The pillion rider allegedly alighted from the motorcycle and approached them,brandishing a firearm. “He took out a gun from his jacket and held it against me. He asked me to give him everything I had. I was so scared,I gave him my bag,” said Anuradha.

Following this,the man go onto the bike again,and the duo sped off in the direction of Malviya Nagar.

Anuradha stated that her bag contained Rs 16,500 in cash,a Blackberry phone,a Nokia phone,an Apple Ipod,house keys,sun glasses,debit and credit cards,health insurance card and an office ID.

Police said she would be able to recognise the men,if produced before her,because they weren’t masked.

A senior police officer said that a case of robbery has been registered under Sections 392/34 of the Indian Penal Code.

An investigation is on.
