Met predicts more rain this week

The week started on a cloudy note on Monday when a surprise drizzle cooled down the city in the afternoon. Around 2 pm,localities like ITO,CP,Dhaula Kuan and ISBT received a drizzle, followed by cool winds. The Met said the rains were too light and recorded less than 1 mm.

The weatherman said the days ahead will remain cloudy. An upper air cyclonic circulation over Northwest India is leading to a lot of moisture, which may cause some light showers on Tuesday as well. “November is the transition time between summer and winter and it is usually accompanied by changes in the weather like sudden rain and sunshine,” said an official at the Safdarjung Met department.

This November, the transition in the weather has led to a lot of rains in the city. On Saturday, the city witnessed 18 mm of rain, the highest for the month in 18 years. There could be more rains in the city due to the cyclonic circulation and the temperature is likely to dip from Tuesday.

On Monday, the maximum temperature was 29.9 and the minimum was 17 degrees Celsius. “Both day and night temperatures will start decreasing in a day or two. It is too early to say how cold this month will get. Right now temperatures are near normal,” said the weatherman.
