Meat supplier shot dead in Noida

A meat supplier was gunned down and robbed in front of his nephew on Sunday night on Mahamaya Expressway by unknown assailants as he was on his way back home in Ghaziabad, police said.

“The assailants were on a motorcycle. Ekram, the meat supplier who was going home, was on Mahamaya Expressway in Phase-2 area near Nangla village around 11 pm. An FIR has been lodged under Sections 302 and 394 of the Indian Penal Code after a complaint was lodged by the victim’s nephew, Chand, who was along with him at the time of the incident, but escaped unharmed,” a police officer said.

According to police, the assailants took away Rs 7 lakh Ekram was carrying. He was hit by five bullets.
