A 23-year-old MBA student allegedly committed suicide in his rented accommodation in the Badarpur Extension area on Saturday afternoon.

The deceased,Mukhender Kumar,was a final-year student of Delhi Business School on Mathura Road in Badarpur. Kumar,a native of Uttar Pradesh,was the son of a National Thermal Power Corporation employee.

The incident came to light when his roommate,Shyam,found him hanging from the ceiling on Saturday afternoon.

Shyam told us that when he left the room for some work around 12.30 pm,Mukendra was cooking. A few minutes later when he returned to take his helmet,he found his roommate hanging from the ceiling, said a police officer. The police have informed Kumars family members and the body has been sent for postmortem.

The reason for Kumar taking the extreme step has not been ascertained yet as he did not leave behind any suicide note.
