Man wanted by multiple states held in shootout at Kalindi Kunj

DCP (Special Cell) P S Kushwaha said the accused, Sahun Bishambhara, had been on the run for the last two years and was being trailed by police forces from Delhi, UP, Haryana and Rajasthan.

A 38-year-old man, carrying a reward of Rs 4 lakh on his head, was arrested by the Delhi Police and the Uttar Pradesh Police following a shootout Wednesday.

DCP (Special Cell) P S Kushwaha said the accused, Sahun Bishambhara, had been on the run for the last two years and was being trailed by police forces from Delhi, UP, Haryana and Rajasthan. “In 2013, the Delhi Police’s Special Cell booked Bishambhara and his associate Salli under MCOCA for allegedly running a crime syndicate from Mewat,” Kushwaha said.

At the time, Bishambhara had escaped from the custody of Madhya Pradesh police. “We came to know he is hiding in Haryana. A team, led by inspector Umesh Bhartwal and Bhushan Kumar Azad, raided the village but he had fled. He was later spotted at Kalindi Kunj Chowk and arrested after a shootout,” the DCP said.
