Man held for sexually assaulting 4-year-old in Delhi

The police officers soon reached the spot and took the girl to a nearby hospital for medical examination. It was found that the incident happened after the accused took the girl to a room and locked it from inside, officers said.

The accused was traced to a nearby colony in Narela, from where he was apprehended, officers said

“During questioning, the accused disclosed that at the time of the incident he was roaming in the area under the influence of alcohol. He told police that he saw the minor girl alone and took her to an empty room nearby, where he committed the alleged act. The accused further admitted that he locked the room from inside to avoid interruption. A case has been registered under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO),” a police officer said.
