Man held for rape of 2-yr-old in Outer Delhi

The victim’s mother told police that she was sleeping next the girl and her two other children when the accused took her daughter away. When she woke up,she tried looking for her daughter but could not find her anywhere.

“She told us that she searched for her daughter in the neighbourhood but didn’t find her. When she was returning home to tell her husband about their daughter going missing,she heard someone crying. She identified the cry to be her daughter’s and followed the sound. She reached the terrace and found her there,” police said. The victim’s mother made a PCR call and alerted the neighbours. The accused was arrested and a case was registered against him.

Police said the girl sustained minor injuries on her neck and cheeks. “It appears that the accused slapped the girl when she tried to resist. The girl was sent for a medical examination,which confirmed rape. Investigation in the case is underway,” police said.
