Man dies after BMW rams into scooter in Delhi; architect arrested
The woman was heading home after a party in Greater Kailash when the accident took place near Moti Bagh Metro station, said police. The deceased, Ajay Gupta, ran a grocery shop and was returning home when he was mowed down, they added.

A 28-year-old architect was arrested for allegedly running over a 26-year-old man with her BMW car in the early hours of Sunday, said police.
The woman was heading home after a party in Greater Kailash when the accident took place near Moti Bagh Metro station, said police. The deceased, Ajay Gupta, ran a grocery shop and was returning home when he was mowed down, they added.
The woman was arrested from the hospital and later released. Police said they are investigating the matter.
As per them, a PCR call about the accident was made around 4 am. Ghanshyam Bansal, DCP (West), said, “When we reached the spot, a BMW and a scooter were lying in a damaged condition near Moti Nagar flyover. Neither the driver of the offending vehicle nor the rider were found there. A generator was also found in a damaged state as it was also hit by the BMW.”
Police then went to ABG Hospital where the woman had taken the injured victim. He was then taken to ESI Hospital for further treatment. “He was undergoing treatment and unfit for giving a statement ,” said the DCP. Gupta later died of his injuries.
A case under sections of rash driving and causing hurt by an act endangering life was registered against the woman. After the man’s death, sections of causing death by negligence were added to the FIR.
Police said the woman lives with her family in Ashok Vihar. Gupta is survived by his wife and two children who live in Basai Darapur. His family told police that he had left home late at night to buy medicines for himself.
