Man arrested for raping 17-yr-old girl

The girl,who is a resident of a slum cluster in the area,alleged that the man saw her in the area,got hold of her cellphone number and contacted her.

A 17-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 28-year-old labourer living in a tent house in South Delhis R K Puram area.

The girl,who is a resident of a slum cluster in the area,alleged that the man saw her in the area,got hold of her cellphone number and contacted her. He reportedly contacted her and told her that she should quit studies and start working,police said.

He allegedly told the girl that he would help her get a job that would pay her well. He then asked her to accompany him for an interview to Kotla Mubarakpur. The victim alleged that the accused took her to a secluded place and raped her, a police officer said.

The victim returned home and told her parents of the incident and they approached police. Police said a medical examination of the girl has confirmed rape.

Based on the girls complaint,a case of rape was registered. The man,identified as Amar Pal,has been arrested, the officer said.
