The Indian Meteorological Department on Monday said Delhi and NCR regions were in for another spell of light to moderate rain or thundershowers over the weekend on October 11-12. With a weak withdrawal of the southwest monsoon,the Met department said the rainy season is likely to break its previous record for the most delayed withdrawal October 13 in 1956 and 1959. The length of the current southwest monsoon is likely to exceed the average 120 days, a Met department statement said. The statement said monsoon features continue to prevail over plains of northwest India with moist easterly wind flow prevailing at lower levels.
Anmol Sarnas friends granted interim bail
A city court on Monday granted 15-day interim bail to four of NRI Anmol Sarnas friends who had been booked for the possession of illegal drugs. Sources said the courts decision was met with heavy resistance by Sarnas family,who said they would move the High Court to cancel the bail. Sarna was killed under mysterious circumstances on the night of September 14 after he attended a party at one of his friends place in Kalkaji. His four friends and three others were arrested for possession of illegal drugs. Two security guards at the apartment complex were held on the charge
of murder.
