Lady Shri Ram journalism entrance exam today

More than 500 applicants are expected to turn up for the Journalism (Hons) entrance exam to be held in Lady Shri Ram (LSR) College on Thursday. One of the most prestigious and popular courses,not just in the college,but in the university,enrollment to journalism courses is on the basis of entrance exams designed and held separately by each college offering the course.

The two-hour exam scheduled to start at 2 pm will be divided into two sections — objective and analytical. The objective section will contain questions based on general awareness,which are not necessarily all Multiple Choice Question (MCQs). The second section will test the candidate’s analytical skills,along with their ability to write. “We are basically looking at how interested you are in the world around you,and there are no prescribed books for preparing for the exam,” said Ujjaini Ray,a faculty member at LSR College.

Registrations for the exam ended on Wednesday noon. While most colleges also hold an interview,selection in LSR is only on the basis of the written exam. Results of the exam will come out on June 22,along with the first cut-off list.

Other colleges offering this course are Delhi College of Arts and Commerce,Kalindi College,Kamla Nehru College and Maharaja Agrasen College. The entrance exams for Kalindi College and Maharaja Agrasen College are scheduled for June 30 and June 18,respectively.

Meanwhile,results for the entrance exam of Kamla Nehru College on June 14 are due on Wednesday and will be followed by interviews on June 18 and 19. As many as 608 candidates sat for the entrance exam in Delhi College of Arts and Commerce held on Wednesday. The shortlisted candidates will appear for an interview on June 19.
