The builder got permission from MCD to construct a building on the property. (Representational image) A 41-year-old worker died after falling from the top of an under-construction building at Nil Block, Malviya Nagar, officers said on Sunday.
DCP (South) Chandan Chowdhary said that they received a PCR call regarding the falling of a worker from a building in Malviya Nagar. The deceased has been identified as Shiekh Shah Alam.
Police said safety gear was neither found on the body of the deceased nor at the place of work.
“On enquiry, it came to be known that the building is being constructed by a builder named Harish under the collaboration agreement with land owner PK Pandey,” said the DCP.
The builder got permission from MCD to construct a building on the property. Plaster work was going on, the police said.
A case under causing death by negligence has been lodged and the builder Harish has been arrested.
