The Delhi government has marked three hospitals-AIIMS Trauma Centre,RML and GB Pant-for any treatment for sportspersons and officials during the event.
Potential number of patients has been estimated as 57,000 .
A team of 400 doctors,1,600 nurses,paramedics,support staff and volunteers,as well as 140 physiotherapists and massage therapists will be put in place for these potential patients.
The government will provide medical coverage to cover all
19 competition,5 non-competition and 18 training venues,
for which the Health department has been allocated
Rs 50 crore.
21 hospitals will be functional this year to enhance the citys medical infrastructure. Special trauma ambulances will be on call during the Games to provide immediate relief in cases of emergencies.
The government will be procuring 31 ambulances of which 21 will be Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulances and 10 Basic Life Support (BLS) ambulances. The ambulance will later be given to each of Delhis 31 secondary care hospitals as part of the Commonwealth legacy while another 120 ambulances will be hired for duration of the Games
The government has partnered with St John Ambulance Brigade,a charitable organisation to provide ambulance support at Metro stations.
