In an unusual case, a Gurgaon resident filed a complaint with the city police after he lost ‘some part of his tongue’. The city police, three days after an FIR was registered, have not been able to make headway in the investigation.
Police said, the complainant woke up on March 7 morning to find the front part of his tongue missing. Ranbeer (37), a resident of Sitawali village in Gohana, approached the police in Bilaspur and filed a complaint against unknown persons. Police said the complaint states that Ranbeer and his friend Ballu from the same area had gone to meet another friend Surender in Noorpur village near Bilaspur on March 6.
“The three got drunk at a place that belonged to Surender, and stayed the night there,” said the investigating officer in the case.
According to the complaint, the next morning Ranbeer woke up with his mouth full of blood and a part of his tongue missing, said the police. The rio started looking for the missing part and he was later rushed to a nursing home in Jhajjar, which referred him to PGI Rohtak, where he was operated on, on March 7.
They then went to Manesar police station and later got in touch with Bilaspur police because of jurisdictional issues. “When the complainant met us with a medical representative, he had stitches on his lips. The medical report said he had been ‘grievously hurt’. However, the complainant could not recall what happened that night or what could have led to the incident. He also did not hold his friends responsible for it”, the investigating officer added.
Police have filed an FIR against unknown persons under section 326 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt) of IPC.
