I still cannot believe it. I studied for the Boards in only 20 days. The rest of the time,I was preparing for engineering exams. I did not aspire to top. This has come as a pleasant surprise, Hunar Khanna (17) reacts after topping the Delhi and National Capital Region in ISC Class XII Board exams. Hunar has scored 97.5 per cent.

Interestingly,this teenager,who lives with his family in Heritage City,Gurgaon,has no Orkut or Facebook profile,and hasnt been for a movie for years.

Before the results,Hunars astrologer mother had predicted that he would do very well. My son is in the golden period of his life and I was very sure he would top, she said. I did not know how other children would score but I told him that he would score between 97 and 98 per cent. And he did. He is such a hard working boy,I am so proud of him.

A student of Shri Ram School,Gurgaon,Hunar studied 10 to 18 hours before the exams. I was terrified as I could not prepare for the English exam because I was busy with the science subjects. Chemistry was another tough subject, he says. Hunar did not take any specialised coaching. Only one tutor guided him for all subjects

Hunar,who wants to do engineering from any of the IITs or BITS,Pilani,is now waiting for his IIT-JEE and AIEEE results.
