Two guards opened fire at six assailants,who attempted to rob the godown that they were guarding in Alipur area of Outer Delhi. Police said one of the assailants received a serious head injury and is admitted in a critical condition in a government hospital. The injured assailant has been identified as Rakesh,a resident of Badaun in Uttar Pradesh. Around 3 am on Monday,Rakesh and five others tried to rob a cable wires godown in Alipur. They attacked the two guards on duty with knives. The guards,identified as Raghubir Prasad and Jaipal Singh,opened fire in retaliation. The bullet lodged in Rakeshs head. Seeing him injured,the other five fled the spot, a senior police official said. The guards then called PCR,who rushed the severely bleeding Rakesh to Babu Jagjeevan Ram Hospital.
