Titanic: The Canadian Story,is a film about 130 Canadians on-board the unsinkable ship who didnt make it. It tells their stories of hope and heartbreak and for the first time will be screened at the Canadian Film Festival this month. In its 11th edition,the festival,organised by the High Commission of Canada,will show six feature/documentary films and eight short animation films.
Other films include Act of Dishonour,which is a drama based on the life of a young bride-to-be in Afghanistan (directed by award-winning director Nelofer Pazira); Heaven on Earth,which features Preity Zinta and is about the difficulties she faces due to an abusive husband; Paris 1919,which is set after the first World War and showcases the popular historic events that took place during that time (based on best-selling book by Margaret MacMillan and directed by Paul Cowan); and Atanarjuat: The Fast Runner,which is an adaptation of an Inuit legend. The animation films include those nominated for the Oscars such as The Big Snit and Blackfly,and Oscar-winner Special Delivery. These are unique animation films which will make people laugh,no matter what their age is, says Simon Cridland,counselor and head of advocacy at the High Commission. The festival is in collaboration with India International Centre.
