Delhi: Four-storey building collapses in Burari, many feared trapped
According to a senior DFS official, two girls – aged 14 and 6 – were among the ones first rescued.

A four-storey building collapsed near Oscar Public School in Burari on Monday evening, the Delhi Fire Services (DFS) said. While the police said 12 people have been rescued, the DFS maintained that multiple people are feared trapped under the debris.
DFS chief Atul Garg said nine fire tenders have been deployed to help in the rescue operations, which is underway.
The police said the incident took place in a recently-constructed building at Kaushik Enclave. “A PCR call was received about a building collapse in Kaushik Enclave at 6.58 pm… DDMA (District Disaster Management Authority) and NDRF (National Disaster Response Force) are on the spot,” DCP (North) Raja Banthia said.

“Our teams, along with police, are working to locate and rescue those trapped under the rubble. Initial reports suggest structural weakness as a possible cause for the collapse, though investigations are ongoing,” Garg said.
In a social media post, AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal said, “This incident is very sad. Our MLA from Burari, Sanjeev Jha, has been instructed to immediately go there with party workers and help the administration in relief and rescue work…”
