A fire broke out in the fourth floor of a building that houses several offices in Janpath area in New Delhi. Police said that no one was injured. The fire was reported from the fourth floor of Thapar House on Janpath around 11.15 am.
Ten fire tenders were rushed to the spot which bought the fire under control by 12.30 pm. Scores of people were working in offices when the fire started,rushed down to safety. More than 10 people were trapped in the offices and were huddling near the windows asking for help when firemen bought them down. There were several people on the windows who we kept asking not to jump and then we got them down by our lifts. In the end no one was injured in the fire, said a fireman.
We cannot say now how the fire started but the cause does not seem to be a shot circuit, said a Fire department official.
