(Representational image)A short circuit in an air conditioner (AC) sparked a fire inside an apartment in a high-rise building in Noida’s Supertech Capetown society on Saturday night. The incident took place around 8.45 pm and nobody was injured, officials said.
The fire broke out in an apartment on the eleventh floor of a building. Chief Fire Officer Pradeep Kumar said in an official statement that the fire broke out due to a short circuit in an AC installed on the apartment’s balcony.
“The fire was extinguished by the society’s fire safety mechanism before the fire fighting vehicles reached the spot. There was no report of any injury,” he added.
A few days ago, when a similar incident took place in Lotus Boulevard Society in Noida’s Sector 100, officials had urged people to not use their ACs for 24 hours and to get them serviced regularly.
