The family of acid attack victim Preeti Rathi has refused the Rs 2 lakh compensation offered by the Maharashtra government. “We never wanted money. Our only demand was a proper CBI probe,” Lalit Solanki,Preeti’s cousin, said.

He said even if they accepted the money, the family would donate it to ‘Stop Acid Attack’ campaign’s head Alok Dixit.

Dixit, however, said,“I do not run an NGO. So I cannot accept the donation. But I can suggest ways of utilising it for victims.”
