Delhi shivers at 8.5°C, lowest so far this winter
The record for the lowest minimum temperature in December is 0 degrees recorded on December 27, 1930, as per data with the IMD.

At 8.5 degrees Celsius, Delhi recorded the lowest minimum temperature for the winter so far on Saturday.
This is a degree below the normal for this time of the year. The maximum temperature, meanwhile, was 25.3 degrees Celsius, a degree above the normal, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The record for the lowest minimum temperature in December is 0 degrees recorded on December 27, 1930, as per data with the IMD. Last year, the lowest minimum temperature recorded in December was 5 degrees on December 26.
An IMD forecast issued on Saturday said that no significant change in minimum temperature is expected over the next four to five days. In Delhi, it is likely to remain at around 8 or 9 degrees till December 14.
Shallow to moderate fog is expected over the national capital from December 11 to 14, and the maximum temperature is likely to remain at around 23 or 24 degrees over the next six days, going by the forecast.
Meanwhile, the air quality in the city remained in the ‘very poor’ category on Saturday, with an AQI of 321. It is set to remain in the ‘very poor’ or ‘poor’ category all through the week ahead, according to a forecast issued by the Air Quality Early Warning System for Delhi.
