Kapil Sharma admits TV made him lazy, unfit: ‘Dhele ki mehnat nahi hoti’

Comedian Bharti Singh and husband Haarsh Limbachiyaa recently interviewed the entire cast of Kapil Sharma’s film Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2. During the interaction, Kapil shared anecdotes from the film and also admitted why he decided to stay in shape for himself and not for films. He also joked about filmmakers Abbas-Mustan launching him in films with Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon (2015) after launching the career of superstar Shah Rukh Khan in Baazigar.
Speaking to Abbas-Mustan during the interview, Kapil joked, “Apne Shah Rukh Khan ko launch kiya phir aapne Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 bane, uske beech mein aur koe nahi mila jisko app launch kare. Bahut Bahut dhanyavaad Abbas Mustan Bhai. (You launched Shah Rukh Khan and then you launched me, you didn’t find anyone in between to launch?)”
‘Dhele ki mehnat nahin hoti TV pe’
During the conversation, Haarsh pointed out how Kapil looks very fit in the film. He joked that Kapil got in shape because the audience should be convinced that he can woo three girls. For the unversed, Kapil is seen romancing four actresses — Parul Gulati, Ayesha Khan, Tridha Choudhary and Hira Warina — in Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2. Kapil responded to the same and said, “I was fit in 2017, also, but that film Firangi flopped, so nobody noticed me.”
He added, “I was more fit in Firangi than this, but this time I decided that I will stay in shape whether a film comes my way or not. Because we become lazy on TV. And there is no measurement on TV that if you have gained weight then you will not get a project. Kaam chal raha hota hai, baitha bhi sofa pe hota hai, ek dhele ki mehnat nahin hoti wahan pe (You don’t have to work hard on TV). Your mind works when you are working on TV, but not the other kind of workout is required.”

Honey Singh gave song as a gift
Kapil also shared that Honey Singh gave him the film’s song Phurr as a gift. “With a lot of love, he sent me the song, and I told him that the production team will connect to him for his commercial. He told me that he is not tensed about that, so he gave me this song as a gift. He had only asked me to shoot this in Dubai. He also shot for this song.”
