(Express Photo by Amit Mehra)Delhi Air Quality Index (AQI) Level Today, 29 October 2025: Despite attempts at tackling severe air quality in Delhi with the help of artificial rain experiment conducted Tuesday, the air quality index (AQI) across the national Capital remained in the ‘poor’ and ‘very poor’ categories on Wednesday.
At 275, Delhi again recorded AQI in the ‘poor’ category, a slight reduction from Monday’s readings, according to the Air Quality Early Warning System for Delhi, as of 5:30 am. The ambient temperature at the time was 18.8 degrees Celsius, as per the website.
Wazirpur yet again recorded the worst air quality, with the EWS showing an AQI reading of 327, early Wednesday.
Environmentalists have termed the Delhi government’s cloud-seeding trial a short-term measure, saying it may temporarily reduce pollution but will not address the root causes of the capital’s deteriorating air quality.
Moreover, a senior official at the Ministry of Earth Sciences, commenting on the timing of cloud-seeding. said, “The Delhi government seems to have been misadvised about cloud seeding to be done in the post-monsoon / winter season. There will be no use of it as the season is dominated by western disturbances, making the seeding difficult in the absence of mature clouds.”
