Delhi doctor found dead in Greater Noida house; police suspect missing tenants

“Dr Gaur had come to his residence a few days ago and was allegedly murdered with a hammer,” Shakti Mohan Awasthy, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Central Noida, said on Tuesday.

According to the police, on Sunday, the Ecotech-3 police station received information through a police response vehicle at around 8.30 pm about a dead body found in a house. “On receiving the information, the police immediately reached the spot along with a forensic team. The body was sent for autopsy,” the police statement said.

“On enquiring with the family members, we found that a man and a woman had rented the premises on January 25 but currently the tenants are nowhere to be found. We have registered a case under Section 103 (murder) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita,” DCP Awasthy said, adding that the doctor’s son found his body when he came to visit him at the residence.

“We have gone through the CCTV footage and some other evidence and have found that the tenant who had been staying at his premises was behind the murder,” he further said.

Teams have been formed to investigate the murder, the police added.
