In 2019, Archana Gupta, 42, sustained injuries after Singh allegedly fired a celebratory gunshot in the air during a party at his farmhouse in Vasant Kunj. She succumbed soon after.
Gupta’s husband, who is the complainant in the case, alleged that the two were at the farmhouse to celebrate New Year along with some friends. Singh was later arrested from Gorakhpur near the Nepal border.
A senior police official had earlier said that the farmhouse was owned by the JDU MLA’s mother. Singh’s brothers and their families also lived at the farmhouse, it was added.
