Delhi bureaucratic reshuffle: In 2 days, 39 IAS and DANICS officers transferred

This is the fourth major bureaucratic reshuffle since the BJP government took over in Delhi.

In a major bureaucratic reshuffle this week, the Delhi government’s Services Department has transferred and posted 39 IAS and DANICS (Delhi, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep, Daman and Diu, and Dadra and Nagar Haveli Services) officers across various departments, along with handing over additional charges.

This is the fourth major bureaucratic reshuffle since the BJP government took over in Delhi.

While 16 senior IAS officers at the principal secretary and secretary levels were given new postings and additional charges on Monday, 23 IAS and DANICS officers posted as additional district magistrates and sub-divisional magistrates and awaiting posting after completion of training have been given new charges.

Senior official Prashant Goyal, financial commissioner, was given the additional charge of additional chief secretary (ACS), food and civil supplies, and chairman-cum-managing director, Delhi Financial Services.

Principal Secretary (Vigilance) Sandeep Kumar, who is also holding additional charge of administrative reforms, IT and environment and forest, will now hold additional charges of Delhi Pollution Control Committee as chairman, along with IT and administrative reforms.

Neeraj Semwal, revenue secretary, who is holding the additional charge of land and building, will also hold the charge of secretary (power).

Finance Secretary Shurbir Singh, who has additional charges of the general administration department (GAD) and power, will now only hold the additional charge of development commissioner.

Pandurang K Pole, secretary, higher education, with additional charge of urban development, has now been given the additional charge of secretary, education. The current education secretary, Ashok Kumar, has been transferred to GAD.

Sandeep Kumar Singh, currently special secretary to the chief minister, will also hold the additional charge of special secretary, finance. Shilpa Shinde, currently the development commissioner, will now hold charge of secretary-cum-labour commissioner.

While Excise Commissioner Ravi Jha has been given additional charges of special secretary, public works department, Dr Kinny Singh, the current special secretary, health, has been transferred as member of the Delhi Jal Board.

Special Secretary, Administrative Reforms, Sanjeev Kumar, has been posted as the health and family welfare special secretary. Jitendra Kumar Jain, Special Director, Employment, has been given additional charge as the food safety commissioner.

Ravi Dhadich, currently holding charge of power, will now also hold the additional charge of special secretary, IT. Social Welfare Director Yash Chahudhary will now hold the additional charge as special secretary, SC/ST/OBC /minorities.

DANICS officer Praveer Kumar Singh, currently posted as superintendent (prisons), has been transferred to Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation as executive director.

Senior IAS officer Nandini Paliwal, currently posted as commissioner, trade and taxes, will now also hold charge of secretary (services).

Special Secretary (Finances and Planning) S S Parihar was transferred to the revenue department as Shahdhara deputy commissioner.
