The charges against the accused,22-year-old Manoj Shah and 20-year-old Pradeep Kumar, have been framed under the provisions of Indian Penal Code and the newly enacted Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO).

The trial will be held at a special court headed by Additional Sessions Judge Sanjay Garg on July 24.

The court is likely to record the statement of the prosecution witnesses, including the testimony of the victim’s parents on that date.

According to police, the girl, who lived with her family in an apartment in East Delhi’,was raped by the two men,who lived in the same building,on April 15.

The child was rescued three days later — on April 17 — and is undergoing medical treatment at AIIMS.
