Cops identify woman in bag,man detained

Newsline reported on Saturday that a man in his early fifties had approached the police with a newspaper clipping,claiming that the woman was his daughter.

A senior police officer said,“We are not in a position to divulge the name of the woman. However,the girl has been identified as a resident of Uttam Nagar.”

He said the man,who has been detained for questioning in connection with the woman’s murder on February 11,is currently being questioned. “Only after the investigation is over can we confirm if the man is the same person with whom the woman was reportedly living in Paharganj,” the officer added.
