City briefs : On wrong lane,cyclists hit by bus

New Delhi:The son of an Army personnel has been arrested for allegedly posing as a sub-inspector and duping people on pretext of helping them get government jobs. Robin Khan,a resident of Uttar Pradesh and a national-level kabbadi player,was arrested from Jalandhar,police said. A hotelier had approached Khan asking for help to secure a job in the Railways for his brother. After the hotelier was duped of his money,he went to the police. “In the hotelier’s case,Khan had also withdrawn money from his ATM,” said Devesh Chandra Srivstava,Additional CP (Central).

Constable ‘shoots self’ with service revolver

Gurgaon:A head constable,who was in the security team of a senior Delhi Police official,allegedly committed suicide in Palam Vihar around 10 am on Sunday. Head Constable Virender Singh was posted at Additional Deputy Commissioner Ravi Shankar’s residence. Police said no suicide note was recovered. Police said he might have shot himself accidentally and investigations were on.

Child falls into drain in South Delhi

New Delhi:A boy is feared to have drowned in an open drain near his home in Madanpur Khadar,South Delhi,on Sunday. A Fire department official said efforts were on to rescue the child.
