The Haryana government has given its ex post facto approval to the lease of 300 acres of land at Badsa village in Jhajjar.

Haryana nod to lease for AIIMS extension

Chandigarh: The Haryana government has given its ex post facto approval to the lease of 300 acres of land at Badsa village in Jhajjar,to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare to set up an extension of AIIMS (Phase-II) and other important allied institutions. The Health ministry,which had decided to set up AIIMS (Phase-II) in Haryana,had requested the state government to provide suitable land. The land has been leased out for 99 years at the rate of Re 1 per annum.

Two try sneaking arms into Metro,held

Noida: Two persons were arrested on Thursday for trying to board the Delhi Metro from the Sector-32 station with a pistol and live cartridges. Accused have been identified as Dilshad and Zahid,both residents of Mamura village in Noida. The two have been handed over to the Sector 24 police. “We have registered a case under the Arms Act,” an officer said. The two were going to Punjabi Bagh when the incident occurred.

Woman,adopted daughter found dead

New Delhi: A woman and her six-year-old adopted daughter were found dead under mysterious circumstances at their house in Bindapur,Southwest Delhi,on Thursday morning. Identifying the victims as Meenu Sharma (32) and Yukta,the police said their bodies were found on the floor with ropes around their necks. Sharma’s brother-in-law Mandy claimed he was the first to see the bodies,when he went to check on the two around 11 am. “We are checking if they committed suicide,” said Sharad Aggarwal,DCP (Southwest). The victim’s family,however,claim that it was a case of murder.
