Fires at Lok Nayak Bhawan and NDMC building
New Delhi: A fire broke out on the fourth floor of Lok Nayak Bhawan on Monday afternoon. We received a call at 1.19 pm,following which we rushed 12 fire tenders to the spot. The fire was doused by 2 pm. No one was injured in the incident, said a senior fire officer. Many important files were,however,burnt in the incident,police said. The building houses offices of Home ministry,the Coal and Mines ministry and the National Commission of Women. Prima facie it appears that the fire broke out following a short circuit in an air-conditioner on the fourth floor. Fire quickly spread to the fifth,sixth and seventh floor, said a senior police officer. Meanwhile,another fire was reported from the 20th floor of the NDMC building. The fire was attributed to a short circuit. No one was injured,police said.
Special train to Beas,Punjab
New Delhi: The Northern Railway,in order to streamline extra rush of passengers,will run a special train between Hazrat Nizamuddin in Delhi and Beas in Punjab. The train will depart from Nizamuddin on May 12 at 7.30 pm and from New Delhi at 8 pm to arrive at Beas at 4.35 am the next day. From Beas,the train will leave at 7.50 pm on May 15 and arrive in New Delhi at 3.40 am and at Nizamuddin at 4.30 am,the next day.
