At 3.9 mm,June rain short by 92 per cent
The rainfall in June for Delhi has been 92 per cent less than its regular quota. On an average,June registers a rainfall of 55mm,but this year the figure is a negligible 3.9 mm. This is the lowest rainfall recorded by the India Meteorological Department since 1965 when 3 mm rain was recorded.

Baton will fly to Srinagar,skip Ladakh
JAMMU: Due to the ongoing disturbances in the Valley,the Queen’s Baton Relay for the 2010 Commonwealth Games will be flown to Srinagar from Jammu on Tuesday instead of taking the road. It will also skip Ladakh region of the state as no choppers are available due to the bad weather and will instead be flown to Chandigarh on Wednesday. In Srinagar,the baton will be taken to Hazaratbal from where it will go to the Sher-i-Kashmir International Convention Centre (SKICC) via the Botanical Garden and Dal Lake. However,the relay is likely to be a low-key affair in Valley as schools are closed till Tuesday due to the violence and protests.

Driver runs truck over cops who tried to stop him
Ishwar Singh,a 49-year-old Delhi Police Head Constable at Bara Hindu Rao station,was killed after he was hit by a speeding truck while trying to stop it for violation of traffic rules. The incident took place near Pul Mithai Chowk in Sabzi Mandi at around 11.30 pm on Sunday night. Truck driver Joginder Singh fled,but was arrested later.
