No tariff approved for 2010-11: DERC
New Delhi: The Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC) told the Delhi High Court on Monday that it had not approved any tariff order for 2010-2011. The DERC told the bench that the communication between its members available on the files could not be treated as a final order as per the law. The DERC also said unless the order was signed by all its three members and sent to the Delhi government within seven days,the order could not be called approved.

Drug peddler held with heroin worth Rs 1 crore
New Delhi: A drug peddler was arrested by the North Delhi police on Sunday with 1 kg of heroin,worth Rs 1 crore in the international market. The accused,Mehraj (25),was apprehended from a footpath near Nigambodh Ghat,police said.

Class-VIII student commits suicide
New Delhi: Upset after he was scolded for not concentrating on studies,a student of Class VIII committed suicide by hanging himself at his home in East Delhi on Monday. “Gulshan Thakur’s (13) body was found hanging from a ceiling fan at his house in New Ashok Nagar,” police said.
