The Delhi High Court on Thursday flayed IIT,Delhi,for extending the benefit of enhancement of retirement age from 62 to 65 to its scientific and design staff,ignoring the Centre's decision to confine it only to the teaching staff.

New Delhi: The Delhi High Court on Thursday flayed IIT,Delhi,for extending the benefit of enhancement of retirement age from 62 to 65 to its scientific and design staff,ignoring the Centre’s decision to confine it only to the teaching staff. “Had the order of enhancing the age of superannuation of the scientific and design staff implemented,it would have had the effect of putting extra financial burden on the government without its approval,to which it rightly did not agree,” the court added.

Security drill at Delhi airport

New Delhi: A security drill was conducted at the IGI airport on Thursday to check the preparedness of security agencies in the wake of high threat perception at the airports. The drill took place at Terminal 3 of the IGI airport when around 4 pm CISF received information about some suspicious object being placed in the new terminal building,sources said. CISF,Delhi Police and other agencies providing airport security were called in immediately and the drill was carried out successfully,he added.
