CIC,DDCA dragged to court

Even as the Cricket Improvement Committee (CIC) and DDCA are fighting over forming the panel of coaches and selectors ahead of the domestic season, ironically a court summon has brought the two together. A x has issued summons to DDCA vice-president Chetan Chauhan and CIC co-chairman Bishen Singh Bedi on a petition filed by Vinod Tihara, convenor of the sports committee which was disbanded to make way for CIC.

“We received a summon today from the court and I would only say that the committee has been formed according to the court judgement and the guidelines issued by the Indian constitution. It is also working accordingly and our lawyer will now represent us in the court for further enquiries,” said Chetan Chauhan. When contacted,Bishen Bedi said he has no information regarding the summons.

However a senior member of the CIC was amused at the turn of events. “On the one side the DDCA says we can’t take all your decisions because you are only a recommendatory body and have also refused to give us any responsibility or authority,on the other hand we are getting court summons making us a party for everything that is happening in the DDCA.”
