2-year-old child kidnapped from railway station rescued 48 hours later; married couple arrested
The Agra police said they scanned footage from over 250 CCTV cameras, and deployed 14 teams across the two states.

A two-year-old child who went missing from the Agra Cantonment Railway Station in Uttar Pradesh Saturday afternoon was rescued from Madhya Pradesh’s Gwalior, 48 hours after he was kidnapped on June 14.
The Agra police said they scanned footage from over 250 CCTV cameras, and deployed 14 teams across the two states.
The police said the child, Aryan, was playing in front of his mother near the station, where the family lives nearby. Aryan’s mother, Sonu Devi, had stepped away to run chores, and when she returned, she discovered that her son was missing.
According to CCTV footage, the incident occurred around 1.30 pm. CCTV footage retrieved from the platform showed a man in a neon green shirt holding the child’s hand and walking away with him. The man was later identified as Komal Singh Kushwaha, and was seen boarding the Agra-Jhansi train around 2.30 pm.
The Government Railway Police (GRP) and Railway Protection Force (RPF) of Agra Cantonment were alerted.
Kushwaha, a resident of Gwalior, was located in the Budha village of Kampoo in the Gwalior district. The police found Aryan playing at Kushwaha’s home, and rescued the child.
During interrogation, Kushwaha told the police he had come to Agra for some work. He also told them that he had three daughters.
When he saw Aryan alone at the station, he kidnapped the child so that he could raise him as his son. His wife was also allegedly involved in the crime.
The police said Kushwaha and his wife have been arrested, and a case of kidnapping has been registered.
