CCTV captures attack on hotel staff,two arrested

A 27-year-old,who works as chief security guard of Zynxxx Club at Hilton Hotel in Nehru Place,was assaulted,allegedly by five men in New Friends Colony on February 12. The incident occurred near Surya Hotel,police said,adding that two of the accused have been arrested.

Bhupender Nagar,in a written complaint to the police,said he was going to his house with three friends when the accused started following them from Kalkaji temple in a Maruti Swift. When the car reached Surya Hotel,Nagar and his friends decided to drive into the hotel premises to shake off the accused. However,they were stopped at the check post,and the accused,armed with iron rods,bats and sticks, stepped out of their car.

After smashing the windscreen of Nagar’s car,they pulled him and the driver out,and began assaulting them. Nagar was hit on the head with a rod. The two men,who sustained serious injuries,were taken to Safdarjung Hospital.

The incident came to light after Nagar approached a TV news channel with footage of the incident,captured by a CCTV camera installed outside Surya Hotel.

The four accused have been identified and police said they were trying to track them down. Ajay Chaudhary,Additional Commissioner of Police (Southeast),said,“We have identified the accused and they will be arrested soon.”
