CBI to run brain-mapping test on Arushi’s uncle Dinesh Talwar

Earlier,the CBI had asked a Ghaziabad court to grant permission to conduct narco-analysis test on Rajesh Talwar. The court granted permission for the tests which will be conducted in February.

Highly-placed CBI sources,legal experts,and investigating officers probing the bungling of Arushi’s postmortem and pathology reports at the Noida Civil Hospital,came to the conclusion that they should carry out the tests on Dr Dinesh Talwar.

An officer said,“Dinesh Talwar had visited the hospital for all formalities after the murders,including the postmortem and the pathology test. So we are going to probe his role as well. He was interrogated earlier,but no tests were conducted.”

The agency is reportedly going to conduct lie-detection and brain-mapping tests on Dinesh Talwar,an eye specialist.

“We approached him recently asking for his consent. Since he was not an accused in the case,we do not need the court’s permission for the tests. He gave his consent immediately in writing,” said the source.

Dinesh Talwar told Newsline,“I told them they could do whatever they wanted to. But we want a fair investigation.”

Dinesh Talwar used to accompany Nupur Talwar,Arushi’s mother,to the CBI headquarters when they were being questioned in June 2008,while Rajesh Talwar was in Dasna Jail.

Official sources said in the last two months,while conducting investigations in the hospital,the CBI had come across several points it now wanted to verify.

“Arushi’s vaginal swabs had been changed and the pathology report was missing. We recently questioned the staff and the doctors of the Noida Hospital. Dinesh Talwar had been to the hospital several times during that period (May to June 2008). We just want to clear doubts. He is not an accused in the case,” added the source.

The test will be conducted soon,though there are no plans to make him undergo narco-analysis as yet.
